Developmental and Social-emotional Screening

This interactive presentation is intended for personnel who perform developmental screening in the Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) clinic or public health setting.
This presentation was created by the Minnesota Department of Health with support from Hennepin County Child and Teen Checkups and Minnesota Department of Human Services.
The content was developed by the Minnesota Department of Health Child and Teen Checkups child health consultants. Their background includes certification as pediatric nurse practitioners and includes expertise in child health screening in the clinic setting.
A certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion of the module and evaluation of this course.
At the end of this training you will be able to identify:
- What is development and why do we want to know about it.
- What is screening and why is it important.
- How to talk about screening with parents and families.
- Which screening tools are recommended.
- Steps in the screening process.
- How to document results.
- What happens with the screening results.
